3D Hot-Air Balloon
Weaving
Description: In this lesson, we were able to learn about the different cultures and how Native Americans used weaving to create many different art pieces of their own. We were allowed to pick three different colors to represent something apart of our life and as you can see I chose pink and purple. To me, the pink represents my favorite color and purple represents my high school coaches wife who recently passed away as purple was her favorite color.
Extension: Students could use this weaving bracelet as a way of counting how many times it takes to weave a bracelet and add up each section they weaved making it an addition, subtraction, multiplication or division problem. They could then go around the room and try different weaving bracelet problems.

Print Making
Extension: For an extension activity to this project we could use these as multiplication math squares and allow for students to multiply down and across to each side.
Clay Pottery Pot
Description: For this lesson, we were able to make our own bowl/flowerpot out of clay. To make our bowl, we had to trace a circle to create our base. Then we took five small chunks of clay and rolled them to look like a snake that created the sides of our bowl. Finally we took water to mold our clay bowl to the way we wanted it to look and topped it off by painting it the color we wanted.
Extension: I would use this clay bowl as a way to engage students into the lesson in the classroom. I would put trivia questions into the bowl and the students would have to answer short questions to review the lesson they just learned.
Contrasting Colors
Description: For this activity we had to pick an animal that we wanted to use as our main theme and then two contrasting colors that are completely opposite of each other to track and cut out of. I chose to create this little fox guy and traced him on orange and blue paper. I used cut out mini squares to decorate around him to make him stick out more.
Extension: As a geography lesson, students could pick out any animal and do research on where it is from and what it likes to eat. We could then place where each animal on a big map of where it is from and show students where each animal comes from.
Dot Painting
Description: For this lesson, we got to see many paintings that were painted using the technique dot painting. Dot painting is very unique as when it appears close up you are able to see all of the little dots that were painted compared to when you view it far away all of those little dots are combined. Together, we each were able to try dot painting by painting a blue rose. In this close up photo, you are able to see the different dots on this flower.
Extension: For my extension activity, I would ask kindergarteners to practice writing their name by creating a dot painting of their names. This way they are able to practice dot painting but also writing their names as that is a skill you learn in kindergarten.
Personal Mural
Description: In this activity we were asked to draw our names or initials in bubble letters. After drawing our letters, we had to choose five different lines, shapes, colors, and line patterns to describe our personality. The five features that I chose to go with my line patterns include sunshine, shopping, working out, paw prints, and hiking. Around those areas that I decided to put random patterns with bright colors that describe me behind them.
Extension: For an extension activity in science, students could choose different biomes to explain and draw those biomes behind their initials.
