Description: International Dot day is a day that celebrates creativity, courage and collaboration. For this lesson, we read The Dot by Peter Reynolds and got asked to create a project that had some type of dot on it after the story. For this project we used oil pastels, crayons, sharpies, and watercolor paints and sealed it off with water so our mediums would not bleed together. I made a dot out of crayons, oil pastels and watercolors that says “Dream” I was going for an inspirational dot to inspire others.
Extension: For an extension activity, we could think of a specific person in our lives and create a motivational/kindness dot that would make them feel good. We could take our kindness dots and hang them around our school, or deliver them to that special person who inspires you.
