Hidden Safari

Description: The hidden safari project is a project that I really enjoyed creating and is inspired by the animals that live in the safari. To start off the lesson, we got to look at a really unique painting that had many different animals and things going on. For this project, we used a variety of warm and cool colors and contrasted them. To start out the project, we picked out the animal we wanted to create and learned to look at it upside down and draw it that way. We camouflaged the animal that we created by using  To see the animal we colored it in a cool color and then created wacky lines in warm colors so we were able to block those lines out when we looked through our cool red see through glasses. The only way we were able to see the animal was through our red light glasses.

Extension: For my extension activity I would have the students write math problems in their blue pencil and draw lines over that math problem to distract their eye. They would have to take their red light glasses and look through them to discover the math problem and solve it. This would make the math problem a lot more fun for students.
